This Is Not Mailand are four men impressing with authentic songs, implanting a fresh mixture of New Progressive attitude and a heart‘s blood sound into people's mind. Pulling in no restraint, they’re creating pithy and weird compositions, still keeping a preference for melodic themes. Their rad live shows are completing the creative work on stage. Phi is a three-piece Post Progressive Rock Band from Austria, founded in 2006. With their uncompromising music and lots of astonishingly energetic live shows, the band managed to gain a respectable reputation among music lovers and musicians as well as several awards in and around Austria.
A first european tour in 2013 through Austria, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Romania and Lithuania was a great success.
Now, the band is going to hit the road again in starting in 2014, surrounding the October release of their label debut album "Now The Waves Of Sound Remain" (Gentle Art Of Music / Soulfood Music).
The most important goal of the band has always been and will always be about delivering emotion to the listener. Nothing beats the reaction of an audience to sounds unheard before, feeling the connection, the understanding that comes with the pure approach of our songwriting. Nothing beats the astonishment doing a rock show, that doesn't always give the listeners exactly what they want, but instead takes them to different places and opens their eyes for new perspectives. There is no plan to write songs. There is just the plan to receive them, arrange them, and play them in the best, tightest way, when they are manifesting themselves in our heads. This is phi.
