John Allen is "yet another one of these bearded and tattooed singer/songwriters" whose inspirations root deep within punk, indie and americana music. After having been discovered and taken on tour by Frank Turner in 2013, his career has steadily picked up steam. 2014 saw him share the stage with Dutch folk-punk Tim Vantol and Belgian pop sensation Milow as well as tour with US punk-rock heroes Lucero, with Australian songwriter Emily Barker and American folkster Joe Ginsberg.
John Allen’s songwriting talent and gravelly voice have been acknowledged by Rolling Stone Magazine and continues to win fans. His new album, Sophomore, was released on Gunner Records to widespread acclaim by press, blogs and fans from all over Europe.
