Just Jack and the prolific DJ Koze will provide the arena for an exploration of the Amygdala (a.k.a. the part of the brain responsible for autonomic responses) and emotional language within hidden energy fields: an experiment that puts H. G. Wells' imagination to shame.

The human emotional connection with music goes beyond the sparks and flutters of chemicals in the brain, and can reach us on a deeply spiritual level – just ask anyone who's had an epiphany in the middle of a sweaty, dystopian techno rager.

Royal Society Research Fellow, Dr. David Glowacki, and his team of experts (Tom Mitchell, Phil Tew, Becky Sage) in Danceroom Spectroscopy will provide a large-scale, interactive molecular dynamics experience, using 3D video technology alongside a custom-built supercomputer to interpret the emotional and spiritual energy fields hidden within the venue. They will team up with a formidable artist which we will announce later in the week.

The audience will use their energy fields to steer a rigorous molecular physics simulation, and generate visualisations and soundscapes in real-time.
