British clarinet virtuoso Julian Bliss leads his seven-piece ensemble through some of the great tunes made famous by Benny Goodman during the swing era the 1930s and 1940s. One of the world’s finest classical clarinetists, Julian became enamored with the performances of Benny Goodman and in 2010 handpicked a group to perform Goodman’s music, staying true to the authentic feel but with a modern twist. The album A Tribute to Benny Goodman was released in 2012 to critical acclaim from both jazz and classical reviewers. Julian talks the audience through the music and shares stories about Goodman’s life during their uplifting, classy, and humorous live performances.
