The Aïcha Makeba Project is an experimental world music project, and its sound consists of many influences, mostly in the range of the world music (Afrobeat, Gnawa, Reggae, Oriental, Folk…).
Revolving around the singer-songwriter's work of AICHA MAKEBA, and accompanied each time by different musicians of various musical backgrounds, THE AICHA MAKEBA PROJECT live performances consist every time of a new musical experience, that can mostly be considered a musical jam,experimenting with different world music traditional instruments and some electronic effects.

THE AICHA MAKEBA PROJECT has been invited to play in Sofar Sounds Cairo, Balcon Lounge, Institut Français d’Egypt (French Institut - Cairo) , Bikya, CLOUD 9 FESTIVAL (Nuweyba – Sinai) ROOM Artspace,The Shelter, DARB1718 and Elbet Alwan.

This time in After Eight performing live we will have:
AICHA MAKEBA – vocals and electro-acoustic guitar
ESSAM ABDOU – vocals and oud
OMAR EL AYAT – cajón and percussions
MOHAMED KAMAL – electric guitar, goumbri and percussions
WETEY RASTA – bass guitar
