Party: Mixed Presents: Joel Corry Live DJ Set

Ex-Geordie Shore, DJ and fitness model plays a live DJ set in Liquid for one night only.

Born and raised in the suburbs of North London, Joel Corry is the middle child of a crazy Italian/Irish family! Since he can remember everything has always been non-stop in the Corry household!

He got my first pair of decks for Christmas when he was 13 years old! He set up straight away and locked himself in his bedroom for the rest of the Christmas school holidays mixing the same two Garage vinyls together over and over again. Joel Corry used to save up his pocket money every week, which was enough to buy just one new record every weekend…this was before downloading music on the Internet and burning CDs was an option! His best friend at the time was an MC, they spent hours in his garage recording mix tapes and then listening to them on the way to school every day. He quickly became known as ‘Joel the DJ’ in his year group... This was just the start of a long journey into the pro DJ world!

Joel Corry had his first break at 16 when he was given the opportunity to do a one hour set at an under 18s event. It was a big event with over 1000 in the crowd! “I was so nervous, but I had prepared my set beforehand to the point where nothing would go wrong! I can still remember that night crystal clear in my mind and the amazing feeling I had looking down at the big crowd below... The energy in the room was unreal!”

“Buzzing off my first big night I persisted in getting to know all the older DJs on the circuit and begging them to let me do their warm up sets for no money. Things moved quickly and by the time I was 18 I had a couple of decent club residencies outside of town. However I had my eyes sternly set on the big lights of central London! I knew that London was where I could make a name for myself.”
