Heineken® Sound Atlas brings Chicago, the birthplace of house music, to The Bowery this November 10th headlined by Chicago DJ, Kate Simko.
Electronic and house producer, Kate Simko will bring the underground sounds of Chicago to Cork music fans. Named one of Chicago’s ‘Top 10 DJs’ by XLR8R Magazine, Kate has played clubs and festivals around the world, establishing her reputation as a performer with interactive audio-visual live sets and cutting edge mixes.
Kate has held residency in Chicago’s legendary smartbar, hailed as one of the USA’s most important clubs, smartbar is at the epicentre of the city’s house music scene. A festival favourite at Bestival and iTunes Festival, Simko recently sold out the Royal Albert Hall in London to rave reviews. Her distinct mix of Chicago House and Electronica is set to thrill Irish music fans across the country.
House music was born in the houses, garages and clubs of Chicago and has taken over dancefloors across the globe. Some of the most renowned DJs in the world have cut their teeth in Chicago and their music has spread to the playlists of the world’s most influential DJs.
Outside of the pubs and clubs of Chicago, there’s been a resurgence of warehouse and underground parties which can be hard to find without the right insider connections. The next wave of house music is born in these parties where DJs experiment with new sounds and genres.
Heineken® Sound Atlas has already brought the sounds of Berlin, Brooklyn, Tokyo, Paris and Amsterdam to Ireland and will continue to infiltrate the world’s most exciting music scenes, bringing Irish music fans along on the journey.
