The band was founded in 1995 by the brothers Stevie and Alan Nimmo (both guitar and vocals) in Glasgow; Previously, they had a group called Blackwater Blues Band, which had released an album. The Nimmo brothers had various accompanists over time. [1]

In Glasgow, the Nimmo Brothers recorded their first album Moving On (1998) before they got a contract with Armadillo Music. In 2001, they released their first album on Armadillo with Coming Your Way , where their following albums also appeared. [1]

Since 2009 Alan Nimmo performs with his band King King . His older brother Stevie is traveling with the Stevie Nimmo Trio. Nevertheless, the Nimmo Brothers continue to exist. [2]

In 2015, the Nimmo Brothers embarked on a UK tour for their 20-year band anniversary. In 2015 and 2016, they received a British Blues Award for Best Blues Band. [
