There's no getting around it – looks like tonight's going to be wet! The rain's on its way and is due to have started with a vengeance by 6pm. The Met Office are even warning of thunderstorms, so we're definitely not doing any distance as we can't be on the water waving paddles around if there's lightning about... But it's not that windy and it's Wednesday, right? So we're at least going to give SUP Club a go! (Even if we have to abandon when we get there and go straight to the pub.) Hence for the fourth fortnight on the bounce we're going to hit Chalkwell (www.supsect.com/chalkwell-beach nearest postcode, SS0 8JJ) this time from 6pm for an early 6.15ish launch as with a 5.15 tide the water will be gone by 7.45. Then a bit of messing about in the rain, maybe even the return of surf hockey, who knows? Definitely no hire kit this week, and it won't be a long one as the water won't be there all night – and we may abandon if there's thunder etc. Then off to Old Leigh or a curry house after...
